Needlepoint Threads

Description |
| Soie dAlger Au Ver a Soie |
This
7-strand 100% spun-silk embroidery yarn is available in 593 colors (all of which are
available at the Needlepointer). It provides a soft, subtle texture and, unlike other
spun-silk yarns on the market, it does not shred in the needle. Its 7-strand construction
allows it flexibility for use in various canvas sizes - just ply up or down for the canvas
size you are using. It is available in 5-meter (5.5-yard) skeins or 45-meter (49-yard)
hanks. |
| Trebizond silk |
This
single ply thread is made from filament silk, which results in Trebizonds luster.
Embroidery stitched with filament silk several hundreds of years ago still has a sheen and
brilliance unequaled by any other thread. Works beautifully as is (1 ply) into 16-count or
18-count canvas. It is available in 82 colors on 10-meter (11-yard) spools. |
| Appleton Tapestry Wool |
This
single ply thread is the finest in tapestry wool quality and is ideal for larger mesh
canvas work. Appleton is featured in British needlepoint books with charted design such as
Ehrman Needlepoint Book and Beth Russels William Morris Needlepoint. Wool provides
excellent durability for such projects as chair seat cushions, footstools or rugs. It is
available in 421 colors in 10-meter (11-yard) skeins or 76-yard hanks for those larger
projects. |
| Silk
& Ivory |
This
single ply thread is a blend of 50% silk and 50% Merino Wool in a twisted construction and
is ideal for canvases from 16 count to 13 count. It can be worked into an 18-count canvas
for a very compacted feel. A great alternative to Tapestry Wool for use in larger mesh
canvases since its silk/wool blend gives it comparable durability qualities and its silk
component gives it a subtle sheen unavailable from 100% wool. It is currently available in
70 colors on 28.8-yard skeins, 300-yard half-hanks or 600-yard hanks. New colors are being
added frequently. |
